I’ve heard about other companies that make similar products. What makes Cygnet Orthotics splints different?

Posted on 06. April, 2010 by admin

While there are some companies making similar products, Cygnet Orthotics splints are indeed different. Our splints are custom made from one continuous piece of silver, rather than separate pieces soldered together. This means that Cygnet Orthotics splints are more durable and much easier to adjust than any other ring splints on the market.

I am allergic to some metals, can I wear Cygnet Orthotics splints?

Cygnet Orthotics splints are made from sterling silver. It is extremely rare to be allergic to silver. In such a rare situation, a hypo allergenic varnish can be used to put on the splint.

Can I wear my Cygnet Orthotics splints when I take a shower, or wash my hands?

Posted on 06. April, 2010 by admin

Yes. Unlike some types of splints, Cygnet Orthotics splints can be worn at all times during your day, including in either hot or cold water! Splints may slide off more easily when they’re wet however, so special attention should be paid to the splints when this occurs. It is a good idea to wear rubber gloves while doing household chores and we suggest that you remove your splints while in a pool or hot tub as the silver may tarnish. If tarnishing occurs, splints can be cleaned with silver polish.

I really like the way Cygnet Orthotics splints look, but could I get mine made from gold?

Posted on 06. April, 2010 by admin

At the moment, Cygnet Orthotics only offers splints made from Sterling Silver, which can be gold plated. You can arrange to have this done by your local jeweler. Unfortunately, Cygnet Orthotics is unable to offer gold-plating services at this time.
